Meet The Team
Sophie Baker | Manager
I started working in travel by accident when I ‘helped out’ a family friend stacking brochures in their agency. That was 17 years ago and to this day brochures and holidays still fascinate me!
It amazes me that the world has become such a small place and everywhere is so accessible. What will Tour Operators think of next…… holidays to space! Actually they already have.
I’ve been very lucky to have visited some fabulous places and experienced many things, climbed Sydney Harbour Bridge, visited the Orang-utan Orphanage in Borneo, Cycled through Central Park, bathed in hot springs in New Zealand to name a few.
As an Independent Travel Agent it’s a great feeling to be able to find Clients a trip which suits their requirements, whether it’s a dream holiday or a late escape.

When I first started working in the Travel Industry I knew I had found my Niche! I was very lucky as a child and was taken on many holidays and my passion for travelling hasn’t halted. Since being with Sophie at Oyster I have been fortunate enough to go on some fantastic trips to South Africa, Australia, The Maldives & Israel to name a few. I love Egypt, North Africa & Turkey and having been to these destinations quite a few times I know the hotels & resorts well!
Putting together a tailor made itinerary is one of my favourite tasks, with Bali and Vietnam being my most popular requests.
Top Travel Tip: Avoid Jetlag by putting brown paper inside your shoes when flying!

20 years ago I was lucky enough to be given a trainee position in a travel agency and have never looked back. Over the years I have had some amazing holidays and educationals to places such as the Caribbean, Cuba, Maldives and Sri Lanka but my heart lies in Africa. I have been to Kenya three times, South Africa, Egypt and Tunisia and loved every single trip.
I love a challenge so feel free to contact me.

I have been in travel all my working life, even when I took two years out, I was travelling around the world. Some of my favorite destinations are in the Far East, Australia, Dubai and Hawaii. I also love my European city breaks for a few nights of cosmopolitan culture where I can dine al fresco and watch the world go by.
Top Travel Tip: Be aware of your baggage allowance! Excess baggage charges at the airport are expensive and avoidable. Use your bathroom scales to weigh your luggage before you go, and if you are over your limit, take less or prebook the extra allowance before you go for a fraction of the cost.
