I moved to Norwich at the end of 2023 and have been a part of the customer support team at Oyster since October 2024. Before working at Oyster I worked for several years in the music touring industry, which is where I really developed my love for travelling as well as gained lots of valuable knowledge and experience. Touring allowed me to visit so many places, although unfortunately only for a day or two at a time! Although I might not have been able to fully immerse myself in the places I visited, I did learn LOTS about the practical & logistical sides of travel, especially with big groups.
After moving to Norwich, I knew I wanted a change in scenery and to work somewhere in the local community – this is how I knew I wanted to join the Oyster Travel team and use what I had learnt in a different way. So far, I have greatly enjoyed my time working in the industry, it’s been lovely meeting all of Oyster’s new and most loyal customers, and the team is amazing and so knowledgeable.

Q&A
I always loved travelling with family when I was little, whether that be a trip to Cornwall or Ibiza. My mum is from the Netherlands, so I have many fond memories of visiting my family there. I was drawn to working in the travel industry mainly because I loved the idea of being a part in creating those special memories for other people.
I have so many amazing memories from travelling but a more recent one would be visiting Moni Island for the day whilst on holiday in Aegina, Greece with my partner George. It’s a beautiful island close to Aegina that is uninhabited by humans but has a big population of wild deer and peacocks. They roam around the island and beaches and aren’t scared to come up close to you! The island itself is beautiful with a stunning cove for swimming. We stayed there all day.
It’s always so lovely to see the amazing photos and hear the positive feedback from customers’ holidays. Our team is so dedicated and it’s really rewarding to see our hard work pay off.
My favourite destinations I’ve visited are Noosa Australia, Vlieland in the Netherlands, Skiathos Greece and Poznan in Poland (it’s too hard to pick just 3!)
My first tip would be to always learn a little bit of the language of the country you will be visiting. My second tip which is especially great for city breaks, is to pack a pair of trainers with you and go for a run. It’s a lovely way to see lots of one place in a short time and release some endorphins!
